Captiva Pass

We had a great opportunity to get out in deep water to target snapper, grouper, grunts and various other species. The days we can go outside the barrier islands are few and far between this time of year, however we found a good break between cold fronts with calm conditions, so we set out 9 nautical miles. It was excellent fishing with my group who allowed me to take them out many times. Every bait we put on a hook we brought a fish back to the boat, we caught plenty of Lane snapper, red grouper and grunts with a few trigger fish mixed in. Toward the end of the day we fished inshore and caught, sheepshead, redfish and trout. Fishing shrimp on a 3/8 ounce jug head.
