Non-stop Redfish Action

Captiva Island, Fl

November 18th, 2022

Before our trip began conditions were not necessarily in our favor, we are facing a red tide bloom causing mass fish kills, cold front and of course the lingering effects of hurricane Ian that made landfall only two months ago. I say all of this to tell you it made no difference for today’s fishing; the bite was incredible and we caught fish all morning. Spent the day fishing live shrimp under popping corks and on the bottom with jig heads. We caught snook, mangrove snapper, Jack, ladyfish, and grouper to start the morning. Changed things up mid-morning fishing sheepshead but as luck would have it our sheepshead spot was loaded with redfish. We couldn’t keep the reds off our line to give the sheepshead time to eat, a great problem to have, nonetheless. We caught over a dozen reds of all shapes and sizes, the biggest being 27 inches. It was a great morning keeping the lines tight and making great memories.
